Restrict a User's Logon hours

You can only restrict when a user can log on to the system. On a stand alone computer, there is no way, currently, to force a user to log off when their hours expire.
1) Open Help and Support and type "logon hours" (without the quotes) in the search box.2) Go to Full text matches and click on "Net user". See the examples for setting a user's logon hours. Some examples would be:
net user johnsw /time:M-F,08:00-17:00net user johnsw /time:M-F,8am-5pmnet user marysl /time:M,4am-5pm;T,1pm-3pm;W-F,8:00-17:00net user johnsw /time:all (this one means this user can always log on)

Sony Ericsson’s Candy Bar phones - J132 and K330

A few days ago, we talked about a low budget Candy Bar mobile phone from Nokia. Sony Ericsson has also announced that they will also be launching two entry level mobile phones “J132″ and “K330″. Though both the sets won’t have outstanding features, but they will have outstanding standby times so you can talk more.
The J132 is “talk and text” phone containing FM radio and stereo hands free kit and a dust resistant keypad. It has a torch and offers 9hrs of talk time and 450 hrs of standby time. The 9 hrs of talk time is really a great feature with almost all the new funky phones offering only around 3-5 hrs. The K330 is a little bit advanced and has a VGA camera and capacity to store around 12 minutes of video. It also has Bluetooth and a Health Mate application and a phonebook capacity of 1000 contacts and 450 message capacity and FM radio.
So these bare phones are just perfect for budget oriented users. The J132 will be available in night black and heaven blue in Q4 2008. The K330 will be available a bit earlier.

Samsung Reveals L700 Mobile Phone

Looks like a lot of companies are shifting towards the “Candy Bar” design. Samsung has also announced a new candy bar headset called L700.
It has a 2.1 inch TFT display and a large keypad.It has a 2 MP camera with LED flash and has a five way navigation pad for navigating the menus. It comes with Bluetooth, a media player, an office document viewer. Good news is that it also supports 3G networks and video calling can be done by using the secondary camera located in the front. A recent survey reports that an average teenager has more than 800 illegal tracks on his music player or iPod which is about 48% of total capacity 1750 songs. The teens habit of sharing new songs with friends puts the whole music industry in a black hole

If this is just 48% for iPod’s which had only 4 gigs of memory then imagine about a teenager’s notebook which usually has storage space some where between 80 gigs - 160 gigs. And at an average over 35% of this storage is filled with music tracks only. The number of illegal tracks in teenager’s notebook gets countless.
Now imagine it India. The pirated music disks have got really cheap here. In an average music shop you can get a MP3 music disk for about half a dollar that is Rs.20 INR only which contains tracks of more than 16 albums. Each album having upto 8 songs. Now that makes a song cost only 15 paisa or $0.003 US dollar.
If you buy a original disk of an album, it costs about $2 or 80 INR containing 8 songs at an average. That means a song cost about Rs.10 INR per song or 25 cents which is 67 times more than pirated track.
Now the thing is if these music companies think of getting down the rates of their disk, then too its never possible to beat the pirated price.

HTC Launch P3350 in India

HTC has launched its P3350 in India which has some very good business features as well as music capabilities. It has a 2MP camera and a 2.8 inch QVGA display.
As far as its music capabilities are concerned, it features an in-built FM Radio and is capable of downloading music and other audio/video contents. The downloading is through WLAN access and hence is quite fast enough. Apart from WLAN, it as other connectivity options like quadband, GPRS, EDGE and Bluetooth v 2.0 and the phone runs on Windows Mobile 6. Not only has it got some great features, the design is also quite stylish. It has a 360 degree scroll wheel and a 8 way touch pointer.

Opera 9.5 - Browser that just cant be ignored!

While Firefox 3 is around the corner, Opera recently released 9.5 version. Having a habit of playing with all new software’s, I downloaded Opera 9.5 and felt that this browser just can’t be ignored. If you are anti-plug-in person then this browser is the perfect match for you as it has got loads of features inbuilt with the beautiful black design.
FIRST RUN: The browser was amazingly fast & stable, even on Windows Vista (I tested on Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium). I actually enjoyed my first browsing session on it. I visited my routine sites, all things went good.

But when I opened Gmail, it didn’t load chat in it. Also the progress bar of Gmail was not seen here as the Gmail detects the browser first and then accordingly loads the proper version. For opera it loaded the default without chat. I tried to load the default version of Gmail with chat by doing some tricks. This time it showed the loading progress bar but chat panel wasn’t loaded. After using it for sometime, chat panel appeared & was working properly. Its not opera fault but the Gmail chat version is still not developed by Google.

FEATURES: The feature which I loved was the text-to-speech engine of Opera 9.5. It has to be enabled from the Preferences menu, then it downloads a file of around 10.5mb. After that’s done just select any sentence, right click it & select ‘Speak’. You can now listen the text you selected. Cool! Isn’t it? Not only this, it offer two voice - one of male & another of female. I was more comfortable with the Male’s voice.
The display was quite clear & font looked better than that of Firefox 2. It also has the functionality to remember the passwords & set a master password. Right clicking anywhere on page showed up many handy options.

Hovering over the tabs, resulted in preview of those tabs which made life easy. The other feature that inspired me was the auto complete of URL’s which worked at lightning speeds. It has ability to auto-complete URL’s as you type from the history.
Also when new tabs are opened, a Speed Dial window open in it. You can specify up to 9 speed dials of your wish. This tool really proved handy.

I will just say don’t miss out this browser. Opera really worked hard to beat the Firefox 3 and this black beauty is capable of biting the market of Firefox 3.

Samsung has today unveiled its i-killer known as i900 Omnia. It is a Windows Mobile Handset and it is expected to challenge the 3G iPhone. It also has a 3.2 inch QVGA display sporting a 240X400 pixel resolution and also comes equipped with a small optical mouse.
It has a 5 MP auto-focus camera with face and smile detection along with auto-panorama shot. It also has a Geotagging feature which works with the inbuilt GPS. The phone is 12.9 mm thin and comes equipped with a 5 Mega Pixel camera which contains features such as Face Detection, image stabilizer and Wide Dynamic Range. Users will also be able to browse the net on the phone using 7.2 Mbps High Speed Downlink Packet Access browser and will also be able to share images and videos taken with the phone.
One of its best features is the MagicTouch by DaCP that changes the navigation indicators on keypad according to the user’s needs. The Navigation Panel’s icons also changes according to the user’s needs. For example, in music mode, music icons will appear while in Camera mode, camera related icons will appear. The U900 is priced at Rs 20,585 ($515 approx). Looking at the the features and price, this looks like a great phone.

Samsung Electronics has developed a new solid-state drive, which has the capability to replace hard disk drives in laptop computers. This breakthrough product offers 256GB solid state drive (SSD) for data storage.
Moreover, Samsung claims that it is as much as 2.4 times faster than traditional hard drives.
Samsung claims that 2.5 inches long and 9.5 millimeters thick SSD is the world’s smallest SSD. Moreover, it has the capability of reading up to 200 megabytes of data per second.
The SSD “represents a bold step in the shift to notebooks with significantly improved performance and larger storage capacities,” said Samsung in its statement

Recover the lost administrators password in Windows XP

Slightly more work needed if you lose or forget the Windows XP administrator password.

1.First reboot Windows XP in safe mode by re-starting the computer and pressing F8 repeated as the computer starts up.

2.Then (in safe mode) click Start and then click Run. In the open box type "control userpasswords2" without the quotes - I have just used quotes to differentiate what you have to type.

3.You will now have access to all the user accounts, including the administrators account and will be able to reset the lost password.

4.Just click the administrators user account, and then click Reset Password.

5.You will need to add a new password in the New password and the Confirm new password boxes, and confirm by clicking OK.

All done, you have recovered the lost adminitrators password!

Error Reporting in XP

*Turn the device off and do not charge it - You want to keep the phone non-operational while it dries out.

Multiple login in yahoo Without Using any SoftwareYou can login with multiple id's on the same yahoo messenger withoutany download or patch .Follow these steps :

Go to Start ----> Run . Type regedit, then enter .
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER --------> Software --->yahoo----->pager---->test
On the right page , right-click and choose new Dword value .
Rename it as Plural.
Double click and assign a decimal value of 1
Its done!!
Now close registry and restart yahoo messenger and try Multiple Login

Want to run Google Talk with multiple Gmail identities? If you have several Google Gmail accounts you also may want to run multiple instances of Google Talk This is especially important for families that share a single PC. Nothing worse than a family member signing you out so they can sign in under their own account!
Basically, to have "Google Polygamy" you need to run Google Talk with the following switch: /nomutex
Step 1: Right-click on the desktop
Step 2: Select New
Step 3: Select Shortcut
Step 4: Paste this into the text box:
"c:\program files\google\google talk\googletalk.exe" /nomutex
Step 5: Click Next and choose a shortcut name such as Google Talk1, Google Talk2, or something related to your Gmail account for easy remembering which account is which.
Step 6: Click OK a few times.
